Potential predictors of smoking relapse in treatment-seeking smokers

Impulsive behavior problems are powerful predictors of addiction treatment outcomes. However, a comprehensive assessment these features has not been examined in relation to smoking cessation This study aims evaluate the capacity impulsive predict risk relapse and number relapses for smokers. The sample comprised 141 participants (Mage= 47.3, SD= 8.31; 59% females) psychopharmacology dependence nicotine. Participants provided breath carbon monoxide samples determining throughout study. different impulsiveness dimensions were evaluated with Go/NoGo task, visual search attention test delayed discount while self-informed impulsivity was assessed Barratt’s Impulsiveness Scale. Unplanned impulsivity, failures performance task postulated among individual factors related relapses. Our results contribute understanding components enable inference assiduity by quantifying relapse.
